U.S. State Department Plans to Apply Window Film at 12,000 Facilities
The U.S. Department of State has announced plans to apply window film at 12,000 U.S. government facilities worldwide. In addition, the department has requested an option to install security film at an additional 600 facilities. The request was issued after the bombings in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya.
“Basically, the bombings of our embassies in Dar es Salaam and Nairobi have caused a worldwide increase in security,” said State Department spokesperson Andrew Laney. “One of the things we are planning to do is put window film on the windows on most of our facilities overseas.”
“We are pleased that the government is moving forward to implement installation of security window film both domestically and overseas,” says Robert S. Martin, a member of the Window Film Committee of the Association of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL).
